A Little About Me
Based in the greater Charlotte area, I have been training athletes since 2003. I am extremely passionate about being active, healthy and developing the proper game techniques. But I’m also extremely passionate about the players who've entrusted me to help improve their game. I’ve been told I’m tough but understanding, and I give each player the individual guidance they need to exceed their potential. With me you will learn how to use your unique skills to be a threat on the court no matter your size. As your trainer, I don't want to limit your development solely on the court, but to expand it into your day to day. Challenging each individual to grow more confident is my goal.
Mick’s Basketball Career
Sport is in My Blood
Entering high school, I was a 5’2” freshman and had to figure out ways to improve daily skill development workouts if I wanted to compete with bigger and more athletic players. So, I started to tailor my workouts within game scenarios and skill enhancement drills to get the advantage. By blending skill enhancement drills and game management training, I was able to lead the team to a Southeast Conference North Division Championship in one of Wisconsin’s top basketball conferences. With over 2 years competing for Franklin HS Varsity, I was selected as a 2X All Conference Player and All Area player senior year.

College Experience
Concordia University (Mequon, Wisc.)
Played three seasons. Earned All-Lakeshore Conference Freshman of the Year praise and selected to various All Tournament Teams
the following years. Helped lead Concordia to its first postseason appearance in school history, qualifying for the 2000 NCAA Division III Tournament.

Skills Training
January 2003
After college, I volunteered my workouts for local college players and would assist at a local high school junior varsity and varsity teams.
This then led to working with Milwaukee’s top skill development company Improve Your Game (IYG). At IYG, I was under the guidance of owner/trainer Deshawn Curtis.
As a lead trainer for IYG, I gained experience working with top area players ranging from all levels: professional, college, high school, and middle school. I had the opportunity to work with the Beijing Ducks of the Chinese Basketball Association through IYG. Passion for building confident individuals and helping players on and off the court lead me to starting my own academy upon relocating Nashville, TN; and then onto Charlotte, NC having worked with over 100 players.
